What is the difference between PSI and CDI

California uses two different companies to complete the test the first is called PSI ($88.00) and the second is CDI ($55.00). They both work the same, before when testing was completed in person you would choose the location in your area but now that you can take it online from home just choose the one with the best price.

Computer Compatible info

You must check the compatibility of your computer before registering for the exam.

If your computer is not compatible with the online software, you will need to schedule your examination to be in person at a PSI or CDI test center.

Choose a date 10-15 days away you can always move the date forward or further out 48 hours before the test date.

Rescheduling test date

As long as you are not within the 48-hour window right before the test you can reschedule to give yourself more time or if you want to take the test earlier.

To change or cancel your testing appointment, you must call (833)518-7456 at least 48 hours in advance or forfeit the examination fee.

After submitting your license application, complete the “Applicant Information” portion of the Request for Live Scan Service.

The state of California requires fingerprinting. Do not submit your fingerprint impressions until a licensing application is received at the California Department of Insurance.

Prices for the Live Scan varies based on the location that you choose.
